Today, in anticipation of a story I am writing for Capital File Magazine on best hair salons in Washington, D.C., I went to Sense Hair Salon. Located in Columbia Heights off 3111 George Ave. NW, equidistant from either the Columbia Heights Metro of the Georgia Ave Metro, Sense Hair Salon is a fairly new salon to the D.C. area. I had never heard of it until my editor mentioned it to me but then I remembered one of my favorite hair stylists in D.C., Leigh Rieley, moved over from her old salon.
Leigh has a fabulous talent for making you feel gorgeous (inside and out) while she styles your hair to "royal, Kate MIddleton-worthy" hair as I always request. I am so glad I had the chance to check out this boutique salon in a converted house because my hair is absolutely fabulous. And, with just three cutting seats and three basins, this is definitely a small business so it is a total hidden gem in D.C.
I know how hard it is for us ladies to find someone we trust to do our hair and Leigh has never let me down! Haircuts are $120, but that includes a full styling (including a heated iron if you want it). My beautifully styled hair below. Davines hair products used in house.
