I can't take any credit for this beautiful photo of the fabulously designed Ace Hotel New Orleans but it certainly whets my appetite for my trip to New Orleans this April. (If you are curious about what the photographer thought about the hotel, you can read about it here.) New Orleans is celebrating its 300th birthday this year and since its been a decade from my last visit to this charming city this year is definitely the year to go!
I picked The Ace Hotel New Orleans to stay at because it seems like the ideal spot to explore all the changes in the city. Sitting on the corner of Carondelet and Lafayette streets, Ace Hotel New Orleans opened in 2016 in a beautiful 1928 Art Deco building. This prime locations means the hotel is flanked by museums and galleries in the city's culturally rich and undiscovered Warehouse District/Central Business District.

Just a few years ago, developers began transforming the underutilized Central Business District neighborhood with appealing mid-century modern architectural bones to create a trendy, new mixed-use community. Another element that boosts Ace New Orleans' cool-factor is its live music venue, Three Keys, which features local musicians, including series programmed by the keyboardist Ivan Neville and contemporary brass ensemble NOJO7. I love live music and can't wait to continue to build my New Orleans itinerary!!
Be sure to tune into the blog in April to follow my travels!
