In the Hamptons of Uruguay, the quaintly tranquil Jose Ignacio, lies this art-filled (and artful) boutique hotel Posada del Faro. While their online website hardly does justice to the peaceful sounds of birds chirping, mixed in with the gentle waves of the beach next door, or the water from the Posada del Faro pool lapping against the real wood pool deck, this idyllic spot is a tranquil respite for any traveler.
With off-season room rates just around $300, my rather spacious room (pictured above) is both sparse yet comfortable. Bed is suitable, though not plush, but the bathroom is large with a shower space equal to the size of the balcony. The highlight is the outdoor space, as well as the original local art scattered throughout the perfectly appointed communal space(s).
Many thanks to the impeccable Bodega Garzon team for hosting us at this lovely property this week. Everything about the experience, thus far, in Jose Ignacio has been flawless.
