Regent Seven Seas Voyager Bacon Cheeseburger: a photo barely does it justice ...

So ... I have this thing for burgers. Well, burgers-and-fries to be more specific. I absolutely love the meaty wonderousness of a perfect burger. Now, as I have stated all week, the hamburger I had my first day onboard was not to be satisfaction at all. No need to belabour the point.
Since then I had another burger. Back when we were in Alicante and I had just gotten off my least favorite excursion day of the cruise. My issues with my first day burger -- seasoning, the size of the bun, lack of toasting, lack of garnishments, etc. -- had been fixed. I didn't, however, remember to ask for double the sweet potato fries. Those fries are amazing. Each cut is the ideal two bites, with even height to get some of the soft pureness of the sweet potato. Also, they somehow managed at the Pool Grill onboard to add some texture to the fry which has nothing to do with the cut. The sweet potato fries tasted like Ruffles potato chips. Absolutely fascinating! I wish I could pack them up and take them with me for my flight back home to America!!
For my last meal onboard Regent Seven Seas Voyager today, I knew exactly what I wanted to eat. I wanted the bacon cheeseburger. In order to ensure I could eat it and get off the ship at noon, I had two cappuccinos for breakfast and half a pain au chocolate. Hey ... I like burgers but once you get me started on the pain au chocolate this girl is not going to turn down a chance to eat one.
Gluttony, gluttony!
I headed up to the Pool Grill at 11:00 am when I thought it would open. I stopped at the Pool Bar and got a great glass of champagne from the House of Montaudon. Simply divine. Here is the description of it from the House: http://champagnemontaudon.com/en/portfolio/brut/.

I ate a salad to prepare myself -- health before saturated fats -- and then ate the best of the burgers I have had onboard. The buns were perfectly toasted so they were dense enough to hold everything I threw in there: onion, tomato, lettuce, bacon and even a huge dollop of jalepenos, ketchup and mayonnaise. If I had a pickle I would have thrown it in there too, but boy howdy did the burger stand the test of my tastebuds. And the meat ... an ideal medium-well.
Seriously, my mouth is watering just thinking of eating another one. I wonder if Regent would let me just get onboard to eat burgers ...
Either way, it was a great way to cap a terrific seven days of eating! I couldn't have been more happy with the food-and-beverage program.
