Having lived in London -- plus my family still lives over there -- I always miss it and think of journeying back frequently. Thankfully I am so blessed with this job as a food and travel writer which afford me the tremendous opportunities to pop back over "the pond" (as we like to say in GB) for the slew of new hotels and restaurants opening up. This fall I am so fortunate to have been invited by the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts team to join them at the 90th anniversary of the opening of the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane.
Located in upscale, super popular Picadilly area of London, this October the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts will be debuting their new "Grand tier," given only to the properties with the highest level of service, with the re-launch of the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane (formerly known as the Park Lane Hotel).
This 303-room property, originally opened in 1927 at the height of the Roaring Twenties, is currently undergoing a multi-million pound renovation of its guest rooms and public spaces, including the famed Palm Court Lounge and the Grade II listed Art Deco Ballroom and Silver Gallery. MKV Interior Designers has been tapped to successfully combined the modern touches of a five-star hotel with the careful task of restoring the Art Deco glamour of this historic property.

Additionally, since the food-and-beverage program is always tops at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, drinks expert Rebecca Seal has been named the official "Drinks Historian." In her new role, Seal will celebrate the hotel’s iconic history, telling the story of the cocktail from its London debut in the Roaring 20’s. Seal will also launch a series of exciting and unique cocktail menus, sharing her knowledge by recreating a journey through a cocktail menu historic from the 20’s to now.
I'm so looking forward to going home to London this fall. Be sure to check out the blog for more details as they come!
