Trump, Carson and Ryan come to Off The Record

Off the Record, the famous below-street-level watering hole directly across the street from the White House, has taken the spirit of Political Cartoonist Matt Wuerker Pultizer Prize winning (for Editorial Cartooning in 2012) Off The Record’s keepsake beverage coasters with three famous new editions: Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Paul Ryan.

Created by Kevin “Kal” Kallaugher, guests at Off The Record can now show their support for their favorite candidates by requesting the coaster of their choice, which they are free to keep after finishing their libation. Other coasters include Chris Christie, Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, etc. with 18 different cartoons in total (though not all currently running for POTUS) .

“These coasters are great conversation pieces for our guests that come to experience cocktails and dinner in Off The Record,” explains The Hay-Adams Vice President & General Manager Hans Bruland. “Come election time, we will be able to provide some accurate polling in Washington based on the popularity of which coasters are requested most frequently by visitors, which should also make for some lively debate here as well.”

Located at 800 16th Street NW, The Hay-Adams’ Off the Record provides a relaxed and intimate atmosphere for lunch gatherings, evening dining and entertainment. Open Sunday -Thursday from 11:30 am to midnight and on Friday-Saturday from 11:30 am to 12:30 am.
