Trip of a Lifetime : Grand Hotel Tremezzo

Luminous Grand Hotel Tremezzo, located on the banks of famous Lake Como and bordering the gardens of Villa Carlotta, celebrated its 100th birthday in 2010. With each passing year, the hotel’s reputation for magic has simply grown -- as has its reputation for romance and glamour. In fact, Greta Garbo referred to Tremezzo as that happy, sunny place in the film “Grand Hotel” (1932).

Today, three pools, four saloons including the peacocked splendor of Sala Musica, the only private beach on Lake Como and elegant Italian cuisine displayed through 5 restaurants, place Grand Hotel Tremezzo firmly on anyone’s proverbial bucket list.

In 2016, I look forward to checking this famous hotel off my bucket list by fulfilling my annual birthday pilgrimage to Italy by ringing it in at Grand Hotel Tremezzo. I couldn’t think of more sublime place to celebrate my birthday and look forward to the next four months passing with great anticipation.
