Eden Rock welcomes the Taste of St. Barth Gourmet Festival

This November 5 - 8, in one of the best celebrations of avant-garde French cuisine, St. Barth will host “Taste of St. Barth Gourmet Festival” at the lovely Eden Rock. Featuring seven talented French chefs, covering the range of Michelin-starred menus such as 3-Michelin starred Emmanuel Renaut (ambassador of this year’s festival) to promising young talent, the festival is an opportunity to explore the greatness of the French culinary tradition while enjoying one of the best hotels in the world.

During the festival, Eric Desbordes, executive chef at Eden Rock’s restaurants will collaborate with Chef Laurent Jeannin to serve a unique four-course sweet and savory menu themed around the fine art of pastry. “St Barths is a real heaven for foodies,” says Chef Eric Desbordes “And with the Gourmet Festival, Eden Rock will once again provide French art-de-vivre in the heart of the Caribbean.”

Also, the gastronomic grand finale on the final evening, a signature eight-course tasting menu will be served, giving all three-star chefs the opportunity to combine their individual interpretations of contemporary French cuisine.

About The Chefs

Emmanuel Renaut, 3-star Michelin Chef, 5 Toques Gault & Millau and Meilleur Ouvrier de France

Trained in Paris, Emmanuel Renaut began his career at Les Ambassadeurs restaurant at the Hotel de Crillon, working under Christian Constant along with Yves Camdeborde. After running the kitchen at Claridge’s in London, he turned toward the French Alps and opened his own restaurant, Flocons de Sels, in Megève. Named Meilleur Ouvrier de France, Emmanuel Renaut was awarded his second star by the Michelin Guide in 2006, when he also accompanied the Tour de France as their chef. He is also a member of the “Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux” and the “Grandes Tables du Monde.” In December 2008, he completed his project by creating a cooking school, a bistro, a hotel, and a lounge. In February 2012, the received the ultimate honor: the Michelin Guide awarded him a third star, which is the equivalent of winning Best Picture AND Best Director at the Academy Awards.

Laurent Jeannin, Pastry Chef at Le Bristol Paris

Laurent Jeannin joined the 3 Michelin starred Le Bristol Paris in 2007. His passion for gastronomy first brought him to Hotel de Crillon twenty years ago where he first met Head Chef of Le Bristol, Eric Frechon, owner of 3 Michelin stars. A successful dessert for Laurent constitutes light ingredients which immerse the palate in a completely different world with flavors that combine in harmony. To create this experience, he prepares an ‘amuse-bouche’ that connects both sweet and savory tastes and prepares the palate to connect with a variety of flavors. He gains great pleasure from creating sensory tastes for his guests.

Eric Desbordes

Eric Desbordes, Executive Chef of Eden Rock’s Restaurant On The Rocks and Sand Bar, discovered his passion and vocation at the young age of 13. After carrying out his apprenticeship at the Hôtel George-V and at Joël Robuchon’s Studio, his career took off on a rapid trajectory. Within one year of opening 114 Faubourg under the guidance of Eric Frechon, he earned his first Michelin star. A loyal clientele from the in Paris has inspired Desbordes to heights of excellence. At Eden Rock - St Barths he demonstrates his flair to guests who travel the world in search of the finest pleasures in life.
