Another day means yet another new restaurant in Washington, D.C. This time the glut pivots eastward with the opening of Garrison, mid-to-late this summer, on Barracks Row, 524 8th Street, SE. Capitol Hill resident, former Executive Chef of Cork Wine Bar and Poste Moderne Brasserie, Owner/Executive Chef Rob Weland's Garrison will focus on rustic dishes like roasted meats, fish and vegetables from wood-burning ovens for a locavore experience. Additionally, handmade pastas, crudos and a variety of simple vegetable dishes will offer diners a la carte options to round out their meals.

Initially, the restaurant will serve dinner only with plans to eventually open for Saturday and Sunday brunch.

Final food and beverage menus, along with operating hours, reservations and design information will be made closer to the opening.
