Inevitably, any traveler who lusts for adventure will find themselves in New York City. The Met; Lincoln Center; shopping on Fifth Avenue; Central Park; the Statue of Liberty; and the reams of restaurants and hotels. Sometimes, I think I could try a new place in New York City every day for the rest of my life and still not eat // drink // sleep // look at everything this pulsating mecca has to offer.
At least, though, when it comes to hotels, it is starting to get a little easier to find NYC's best and the brightest, but culling through the long, LONG list is rather hard. So many hotels have moved to the “luxury” notion of wonderful beds, beautiful sheets and great bathtubs. Thankfully, the Langham Hotels International group has helped make the list generating easier by establishing a Langham hotel -- I love the Langham London -- in the heart of Midtown.
Located between Bryant Park and the Empire State Building, the Langham Place New York offers contemporary luxury in its 214 rooms, each furnished with Swedish Duxiana beds, Italian Pratesi linens, and large marble-clad bathrooms with rainfall showers. Luxury details? Check, check and check!

The Langham Place New York also has an intense focus on museum-worthy contemporary art.
For those lucky enough to be able to stay at this hotel next week, they have recently announced a new partnership with Art Miami New York, an international contemporary and modern art fair which will premiere May 14 - 17 at world renowned Pier 94. (Think Art Basel New York.) This proceeds the permanent installation of a multi-million dollar collection of art by Alex Katz.
“We are always on the lookout for new and innovative ways of integrating the Langham Place experience within the art world,” said Francois-Olivier Luiggi, General Manager of Langham Place, New York. “Art is a huge part of our brand promise to guests. An alignment with Art Miami New York, a fresh and contemporary art fair making its debut in New York, is very exciting for us and we hope for our guests as well.”
For guests not into contemporary art (that would be me though I absolutely love art overall), there is always the Langham cocktail bar and restaurant. European influences with classic cocktails provide the perfect backdrop to relaxation before hitting the best New York City has to offer. Or perhaps the spa!
I look forward to my stay next week and look forward to reporting on this hotel for CBS!
