Virgin London Summer Specials

As the dollar-pound exchange rate hits a five-year low -- or, perhaps, in anticipation of Prince George’s little sister -- Virgin Atlantic has launched special fares to London. (In full disclosure, I do not know whether the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is having a baby girl.)

When three or more people book by April 29, 2015 for the economy class service, for a minimum stay of 7 nights in London, a discount of over $300 will apply. http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/us/en/ideas-lowestfares/lowest-fares/family-fare-special-rates.html.

In addition to hundreds of hours of blockbuster entertainment, special enhancements in Virgin Atlantic’s Economy service will be included such as cocktails on the house; personalized drinks; a four course (delicious) dinner; a sweet for dessert; as well as a tasty gourmet wrap before landing for a second lighter meal.

There are plenty of flights to chose from since, in the winter of 2012, Virgin Atlantic announced a joint venture with Delta Air Lines, creating an expanded trans-Atlantic route network and enhancing competition between the U.K. and North America. The two airlines now codeshare across 108 routes, offering passengers seamless connections to 66 destinations. As part of the Virgin Atlantic-Delta Joint Venture, the airlines offer 39 return transatlantic flights between the U.S. and the U.K. daily, with over 250 connecting gateways.

Personally, I would do everything I could to get on a Virgin Atlantic flight, which was literally the best economy class flight I have ever taken in my extensive travels.

Cheers to a great summer in the U.K.!
