Best Hotels in D.C. Part Five : Fairmont : Washington, D.C.
The winner of too many awards to count, the luxurious Fairmont Washington, D.C. is one of Washington, D.C.’s premier luxury properties. As I continue my research into the best hotels in the area, I am looking forward to checking out this elegant ten-story hotel and dining at the Juniper. Staying in one of the 415 recently renovated guestrooms should be a relaxing adventure, especially being able to experience the “Fairmont Gold” hospitality.
For the uneducated like myself, Fairmont Gold is the hotel’s new lifestyle experience with its own separate check-in and own floor of 48 guest rooms, 3 presidential suites and the Fairmont Gold Lounge. Additional amenities include a working fireplace, a lending library, complimentary continential breakfast, full afternoon tea, evening hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and late-night coffee and cordials. After all of this inclusive food and drink experience, it is probably wise for me to note the Fairmont Gold experience also includes complimentary use of the fitness center, which as a pool.
Or indulge in a nice walking tour of Washington, D.C. The Fairmont is just a few blocks from the following off-site activities:
The Kennedy Center (4)
The US Capitol (16)
The White House (8)
Arlington Cemetery (16)
The Lincoln Memorial (8)
Historic Georgetown (3)
The Smithsonian (10)
The National Mall (8)
Constitution Hall (10)
The Corcoran Gallery (10)
Washington Monument (12)
