Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is typically the day after "Cyber Monday," which itself is the day after "Black Friday," which is the day after Thanksgiving. Both of these days are focused on ourselves and buying things to fill our homes and life with beautiful wares at a great discount. Giving Tuesday is meant to make us focus outward: to give to those who are less fortunate than ourselves and, this year, today, May 5, 2020, was decided by the social media forces to be as a new "Giving Tuesday." A day where we can help so many of those who are suffering from coronavirus.

I know in the food, travel and lifestyle industry, not only are all of my blogging peers suffering but I know scores of friends in the industry who were fired -- and owners who are literally losing their entire business. It's a tremendously rough time and I wish I could do more to support others. I've done the best as I could (with the budget I have) by buying hotel reviews instead of the other way around; buying airline tickets instead of the other way around; buying clothes and makeup and other lifestyle related things instead of the other way around ... what a strange and crazy world we live in!

But one of the constants in my life has been the DC Dream Center.

Founded by my former church in Washington, D.C., aka National Community Church, the DC Dream Center services the southeastern portions of Washington, D.C. by giving them mentorship so they can reach the potential God has placed in their hearts. It's a great program and I hope you will also consider supporting it here: https://dcdreamcenter.com/.
