Happy Galentine's Day

As cheesy a holiday as Valentine's Day is -- and as much as I appreciate celebrating love every other day of the year -- it's always nice to have a handsome Valentine make this day special for you (in my case a VERY handsome Valentine)!! But recently there has been a trend to celebrate "Galentine's Day," aka your girl friends, the day before Valentine's as a way to acknowledge all your single girl friends who also love LOVE yet are unlucky in it thus far.

One unique way to celebrate Galentine's Day is a classic take on the teenage slumber party. Instead of the carpeted floors of your childhood, why not consider a last minute check-in to one of these great hotels made for sharing! These six hotels not only have wonderful service but their rooms have the option of bunk beds, ideal for sharing.
So check-in, order some bubbles and chocolate, while celebrating all the many reasons to love and be *in* love!

Channel your inner-child with a sophisticated twist by checking into one of San Francisco Proper Hotel’s Bunk Rooms. The Kelly Wearstler designed room redefines Millennial lodging by offering luxury at a more accessible price point – perfect for the discerning travelers who value experiences (like gourmet dining and cultural programming) over ‘things.’ Guests who book can appreciate the historic Mid-Market neighborhood where the hotel is located, and the cozy yet affordable bunk rooms provide guests with a convenient place to rest their head after a night out on the town, or after enjoying the award-winning food and beverage offerings at the on-site venues Villon or Charmaine's.
Recently opened in November 2018, St. Louis' Angad Arts Hotel is the first property in the world allowing guests to book rooms by colors of emotion: green for rejuvenation, yellow for happiness, red for passion and blue for tranquility. Room colors don’t just stay on the walls either; eye-catching details like rubber ducks in bathtubs carry the same tones through the room, as does the sleek furniture and accessories. All four colored rooms can be booked with double bunk beds as well, rates starting at $175 per night. Each bunk bed consists of upholstered headboards, built-in reading lights, outlets and night tables. An in-room sofa and dining table offers the ultimate solution for up to four family members, friends or co-workers.

A West Village landmark that once housed Titanic survivors, The Jane Hotel's sleeper-train inspired quarters are authentically retro, and offered at a price point that seems frozen in time. Designed by the architect behind Ellis Island, the former Jane Street Theater re-opened as the Jane Hotel in 2008, following a remarkable restoration that updates the historic structure with contemporary hotel decor.A majority of the Jane's 171 rooms consist of Bunk Bed and Single Bed "Cabins," starting at just $99 and $125, respectively. To conserve space, all cabins have communal bathrooms and built-in storage for luggage, with modern amenities including flat-screen TV's, free WiFi, and complimentary toiletries. For a venue that saves on price and space, the historic building is rich in detail and exudes a vintage grunge reminiscent of a bohemian New York which has otherwise faded from the surrounding area.
With three locations in Manhattan and one in trendy Williamsburg, The Pod Hotel’s grown-up bunk bed rooms are ideal for friends looking to explore the city together or have a nostalgic sleepover-style staycation. Each bunk has its own television, charging deck and overhead lamp, providing guests with privacy, comfort and style at a budget-friendly price. Before posting up for a Galentine’s sleepover, grab drinks at the on-property Clinton Hall locations in Pod 51 and Pod Brooklyn, Empellon Al Pastor at Pod 39, and The Polynesian at Pod Times Square.
