Whether for work or for fun, I've always enjoyed my trips to South Carolina. The last time I was there was this past Spring when I went to check out all the glamorous updates to Charleston, such as the launch of the fabulous The Dewberry. While most people travel to Charleston during the Spring and Fall, South Carolina the State is phenomenal any time of year, including winter.

I was thinking about how much I enjoy South Carolina as I have been putting together my list for affordable Valentine's Day getaways for ABC Let's Talk Live, and Wild Dunes Resort came first to mind. During the winter months, the temperature is just around 70 degrees. Not frosty like the 30 degrees in D.C. and certainly comfortable enough to get into the water -- though, perhaps, not for everyone.

For those who haven't heard of Destination Hotels, Destination Hotels is a collection of more than 40 upscale and luxury independent hotels, resorts and residences across North America. Each property is "intentionally diverse and true to its location, transcending status quo in fresh, authentic and unforgettable ways." Wild Dunes Resort is their South Carolina property, with an array of accommodations, restaurants, activities and spa services.

I love golf so I am obsessed with the 36 holes which Tom Fazio-designed (Links Course and Harbor Course). The resort is also home to one of Charleston’s top golf schools, offering a variety of clinics, lessons and intensives. A number of golf packages are also available, in addition to specials customized for golf groups of eight or more. Tee times can be booked online or by calling 855-998-5351.

Stay at the AAA Four-Diamond rated Boardwalk Inn is the focal point of the Grand Pavilion complex, featuring 93 luxurious rooms, eight junior suites, a cozy, well-appointed club room and a 1,700-square-foot grand presidential suite located on the top floor. The Boardwalk Inn is also home to the stunning adult-only Boardwalk Inn pool and poolside cabanas, open in the spring and summer. The Boardwalk Inn recently completed extensive renovations in Summer 2016 and refreshed its accommodations with a balanced mix of beachy aesthetics and historic Charleston charm.

Of course, one of the best aspects of going to South Carolina is the food, and Wild Dunes Resort has seven restaurants so plenty of choices to high-end or low-end for Valentine's Day.

Be sure to tune into the segment Friday, February 1, to hear more!
