Valentine's Day at Trump International Hotel Washington, DC
Since the Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C. opened a little over two years ago, I have been wanting to stay and check out the renovations to the famous Old Post Office building. This Valentine's Day I had the great pleasure of a nice, romantic "staycation" and Trump DC was a lovely place to "post up" (sorry, I couldn't resist the joke) for 24 hours.
Immediately upon entering, anyone will note how airy the rooms are -- fifteen foot ceilings. I felt quite comfortable and, with a piping hot shower and tremendous water pressure, I could easily have stayed under for a solid hour. So relaxing!
The over-stuffed king bed, with black-out curtains to block out even the tiniest bit of light, meant you could sleep until noon without any problems. Personally, my favorite element of the room was the alcove where the hotel designed a desk just to fit the space. (Photo above.) So adorable.
For Valentine's Day, the hotel offered an over-the-top dessert and champagne evening in their Benjamin Bar & Lounge, but the hotel does offer dessert night each week. While there were a plethora of desserts to try, my favorite was the cake pop. So tasty!
Benjamin Bar & Lounge was a great place to drink. They offer a unique Louis XIII cognac and Macallan tasting in their "jewel box." Open from 8 am to 11 pm, this definitely was a highlight of the food-and-beverage program at Trump DC.
Personally, I would come back just for their revitalized afternoon tea. It's nice to just linger, particularly over the 52-spice chicken wings, on an afternoon.
Overall a nice way to celebrate a romantic day with something for both him and her!
